Whimsy Tank: A Shark Tank for Silly Ideas

Inspired by Christina Martinez's Whimsy-Driven Development talk, this month's PHP×Philly is a pitch competition where the business that brings the biggest smile gets a deal.

Bring a project you built for fun. Pitch it to our judges. You'll be scored on whimsy, silliness, and how little money it could ever make. Nobody cares about market size. We care about whether it made you giggle while you built it.

How it works

1. Anyone can pitch. Let us know if you have something to show when you arrive.
2. Pitches run 5 minutes, plus a couple of minutes of judge questions.
3. Have slides or a live demo ready.
4. Judges score on vibes: is it silly, is it fun, is it impractical?
5. Winner takes home a used iPod nano!
